Some recent dinosaur drawings. I left the last four black and white in case you’d like to print and color them. In case you check only this blog and fear I have fallen off the planet, fear not: I post regularly to my Instagram account: @kidshaycomics
Another month, another drawing challenge. I’ve been participating sporadically with #Dinocember. These are my results so far:
The Great Pumpkin is rising!
In my ongoing quest to make all of LQ’s favorite fictional characters available as coloring pages, I present the latest batch. Bash, Dash and Ferdinand are from Thomas & Friends. Jumpy is a late addition, considering she is one of LQ’s very favorite characters and figures prominently in her day-to-day mental life. She is a motorcycle from the Amazon show Stinky & Dirty. Finally, Otis the tractor is a book character, starring in his own series of picture books.
As always, feel free to download and color these yourself. I’d love to see other people’s takes on these (in our house, at least) quintessential characters.
I’m separating these coloring pages because these are far and away LQ’s favorite characters. Scuffy and Tootle are each the star of their respective Little Golden Book. Both books are written by Gertrude Crampton and illustrated by Tibor Gergely. My undying gratitude goes out to them; they created characters that truly captured LQ’s heart and imagination.
A favorite activity for LQ and me is drawing at the dining room table. Lately she’s been into coloring pages. I found some online, but most of the characters she loves best do not have readily available coloring pages. I decided to remedy this situation by creating our own coloring pages.
I’m sharing them below in case you or a kid you love wants to spend some time coloring. I own none of these characters, so I am not selling them. Please take them as they are intended: loving tributes. LQ certainly enjoys coloring her favorite characters.
Today’s Friday Robot was inspired by a spread in a book by Patrick McDonnell. I’ve been a fan of his for a long time. His brushwork is particularly compelling. With this, I was attempting to approximate the look digitally.
