pirates! invade The Family Monster

Here’s another storyline from my old strip, The Family Monster. I’m having fun looking through these. Sometimes they even surprise me by being good. Take this story, where pirates crash in the desert and need Dee, Monster, Dirch and Eggman to help them get going again.

If you look closely, you can see my old web address. And look! It still exists!

Of all the comics I've read of yours, so many brilliant strips, the third in this series remains my all-time favorite. It's really unbelievable. I can still remember the day I read it in Boulder for the first time, and I peed my pants twice.

High praise, coming from a guy writing a whole book about alcohol. I'm flattered my work was responsible for you wetting your pants (twice).

By the way, I can't remember, but do the monsters only have arms when necessary?

  4. Kid Shay says:

Yup. I liked the look of them without arms, but sometimes they needed to, you know, hold stuff.
